It has been an encouraging start to the season, as we prepare for our MCCL Division 1 programme for 2026. Three friendlies have been played before our league campaign begins.
First up were Indian Gymkhana on 18th April. A century on debut for Rishabh Choubey (103) and wickets for Fahim Baharami (4-26) were the standout individual performances in a one sided game resulting in a comprehensive 200+ run win. SCORECARD
Next up were reigning Premier League Champions North Middlesex on 25th April - a much tougher proposition. An impressive 5 wicket win ensued, with wickets for left arm spinner Jermey Christian (4-41), and another century, this time by Dylan Rawal (105), ably supported by Shreyas Malur (40) and captain Sanjay Mishra (45*) to see us home in a calm and controlled run chase. The final pre-season friendly was against Hampstead, another premier league club, who will be playing in Division 1 this season. Fine knocks from Shreys Malur (78) and captain Sanjay Mishra (76) saw us recover from a bad start to post a competitive total. The bowling unit did its job, taking regular wickets, and we ran out winners on the DLS method as rained ended the match early. SCORECARD
